![]() ![]() Let it be clear : I am not talking about the gore, blood-stained horror of a Saw movie, the kind of story that would make you throw up, I am talking about the bone-chilling, creepy stories of unutterable darkness and mad dreams. I intended to read this book as a kind of break from Lovecraft’s short stories, I was actually about to have an overdose of alien barrels and ancestral gods, yet I still wanted to read horror stories and dig further in the genre. I have read the Penguin Classics edition entitled The White People and Other Weird Stories, a collection that is supposed to be an introduction to Machen’s work. ![]() Today I will begin my literary journey with a classic of Horror, often compared to Lovecraft and Poe : the Welsh author Arthur Machen. ![]()
